One family, one kitchen, two names. Your Personal Chef has catered since 2000. YPC Market is the storefront that grew out of it on East Oak Street.

The chef
From a pizza parlor to the Caribbean and back again.
Chris began his culinary career in 1986 at a small local pizza parlor. While attending the Culinary Institute of America, he externed in Fort Worth at the Worthington Hotel. After graduating in 1991, he returned to the Worthington as a line cook in the Brasserie La Salle.
From there he worked as a Chef Tournant in Bermuda, joined the opening team of the El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico, and served as Head Chef of Saychelles and the renowned Chateaux Bordeaux restaurants on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He then went to sea as Executive Chef and F&B Manager of the motor yacht Lady Bebe.
In 1999 he moved back to Fort Worth and started Your Personal Chef in 2000. After 15 years of in-home service, he and Janet opened a commercial kitchen in Aledo, expanding their catering capacity and giving them room to experiment.
He is active in the Chefs Move to Schools program and mentors through ProStart, working to improve the quality of school lunches.
1986
Chris starts cooking at a small local pizza parlor.
1991
Graduates the Culinary Institute of America and returns to Fort Worth.
1999
Comes home to Fort Worth after years of resort and yacht kitchens.
2000
Your Personal Chef opens. Janet moves to Fort Worth the same year.
2015
After 15 years of in-home service, the Aledo commercial kitchen opens.

The other half
She left accounting for the kitchen, and never looked back.
Originally from Hutchinson, Kansas, Janet earned a B.S. in accounting from Kansas State University in 1997 and moved to Fort Worth in 2000.
After working dinner parties with her husband, she took local cooking classes, left the corporate world in 2005, and built a solid culinary foundation cooking for some of Fort Worth's finest.
Since the birth of their children, Lily and Sam, she has focused on the administrative side of the business while continuing to help with dinner parties and catering.
